1. Introduction
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies the nuvtools.com site and Nuv Tools Account (account.nuvtools.com) use, why, and how you can control them. It complements thePrivacy Policy.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser and reads back on later requests. They are used, for example, to keep you signed in as you move between pages and to protect forms against forged submissions.
3. Similar technologies
Browsers also offer other ways to store information, such as local storage (localStorage). Unlike cookies, what is kept there is not sent to the server with every request.
4. What we use
4.1. The nuvtools.com site
The site uses no cookies. It keeps a single item in your browser's local storage, and only if you use the language switch at the top of the page:

5. Cookie categories
- Strictly necessary: the ones listed above. Without them you cannot sign in and sign-in cannot be protected, so they do not depend on consent.
- Preferences: we use no cookies; the site's language choice is kept in local storage, as described above.
- Statistics or analytics: we use none.
- Marketing or advertising: we use none.
Since there are only strictly necessary cookies, neither the site nor Nuv Tools Account shows a consent banner. If we ever use another category, it will be turned on only with your consent.
6. Third-party cookies
The site loads no third-party content: the links to LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook are plain links and set nothing until you open them. When you choose to sign in with Microsoft or Google, their sign-in pages set their own cookies, governed by their own policies.
7. Security cookies
The anti-forgery cookies and the ones that track a Microsoft or Google sign-in exist to stop another site from submitting forms on your behalf or impersonating the sign-in provider's answer. Nuv Tools Account is always reached over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
8. Storage period
Session cookies are deleted when you close the browser; the ones that track a sign-in in progress expire within minutes. The only persistent cookie is the one that remembers a device for two-step verification, and it exists only if you ask for it.
9. Managing your preferences
As there are no optional cookies, there are no preferences to set. To forget the language chosen on the site, clear nuvtools.com's data in your browser. To stop a device from being remembered for two-step verification, sign out and clear account.nuvtools.com's cookies.
10. Deleting cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data in its privacy settings. If you block account.nuvtools.com's cookies, you will not be able to sign in.
11. Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever we start using a new cookie. The date at the top shows the latest change.
